I bought this bird house as a project for my grandkids, 11 and 14, to do when they came to spend a few days with us. They had fun building it and then painting it. I had to help with the hinges on the top because they were so tiny and the screws were impossible for me to screw in because they were so small. Instead I used tiny brass nails that belonged to picture hangers and hammered them in. Also, my drill would not take a bit that small so we used a screwdriver on all the screws which was not a big problem because the holes were all started. My grandchildren were very proud to take it home and hang it in a tree. I don't think this would be an easy project for younger kids unless they were working with an adult.
