I had two of these toolboxes of identical shape and construction, owned for years but with Wickes branding. One was caught in flooding and subsequently replaced with a matching Stanley branded item. After little use and about 10 months one hinge started to disintegrate. Within 12 months the hinge has totally failed. The seller has refused a guarantee claim. The box is a great shape and the tote tray really useful and good for keeping smaller tools accessible yet shallow enough not to interfere with larger items in the main compartment. The two small yellow lidded compartments on top are good for storing small fixings, fuses etc and they clip solidly and do not swing open when the main lid is open. The metal clasps are solid and will not come undone. The carry handle is substantial and comfortable in use.Great design and functionality let down by the flimsy hinges. If only they had been constructed in the same fashion as the front clasps.I write this review based on decades of experiences as a property owner and DIY er.The case is a very reasonable cost especially when compared to the high street and as I am a “prime member” prompt posting and delivery is included. There is no indication as to cost fo non prime members. The case meets the stated length. I saw nothing about height or width but ‘‘this case Is much bigger than I expected. It has the expected black and yellow colouring and is made from a heavy moulded plastic.Open the lid and there is a sectioned lift out tray in which bits and pieces could be organised such as boxes of dowels, wood plugs and screws along with small hand tools.Lots of room underneath which will handle an endless variety of whatever you wish obviously restricted by size. The hinging and snap catches are sturdy and overall the case will give many years of service if treated properly. The case is as I said sturdy. With a comfortable carrying handle bOverall, a good buy and storage solution at an affordable costI’ve got the 24” version of this box plus two other 19 inch Stanley tool boxes. All of them have lugs on the lid hinges which prevent it opening all the way to the floor. If this happens the contents in the lid compartments can force their lids open and fall out. The box delivered to me was missing these lugs, though there is evidence that they should be there. The moulding process probably failed to make them properly. I returned the box for a refund fearing that a replacement would be the same. These boxes from Stanley are normally very well made but the range is vast with varying quality and prices. The 2000 Series boxes, like this one, is normally good quality and value. It came but advertising as Prime next day delivery until paid for!! Broken hinges as it was flimsey but cheap. The Yodel driver did not follow Amazon secondary drop point as countless others have done and left the box on my doorstep. I was home only by chance! On this note after spending thousands I am cancelling Prime....Too many mistakes ondelivered items and the TV offered is to be seen as B movies and not quality entertainment. Amazon is let down by competition which is wholly a good thing but gives rise to complexity and confusion with delivery mainly differences in software and difficulty in returns.Few reviews on here about the back hinges being a nuisance. It can be but also very very easy to clip back into place if it does fall off. It may be designed specifically for this reason (although I am no R&D engineer).Toolbox itself is very sturdy and nicely designed. Especially for the price paid. You do have A LOT of room under the first compartment and I have managed to fit my jigsaw, soldering iron etc inside.
