VTL or Vacume Tube Logic are masters of making awesome valve amplifiers, also they have a record label or did have called Vital showcasing their take on valve or tube microphone and mixer per amps etc. I am super impressed at how sumptuous this disc sounds considering the recording was made in 1992 as a 20 bit master. Its not always the bits but how you record the music. In saying that all you can do to enhance the complete signal path counts at the end. The piano and drums particularly are so clear and addictive to follow whist enjoying the flow of this work. If more modern so called studios and engineers worked to this level I think people would BUY more music on CD etc. Here there are realistic DYNAMICS and not the operator behinf the desk turning all up loud with the compressor/ limiter wrecking the music. If you love Jazz and can score one of these do so. A big up for this cd.
